NC to vote against motion of confidence on July 7

Srinagar, Jul 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC), the main opposition party in the state, has decided to vote against the motion of confidence in the Congress led-council of ministers on July 7.

This decision was taken unanimously by the legislature party of the NC, a party spokesman said.

He said the NC Legislature Party has unanimously decided to caste vote against the motion of confidence in the council of Ministers to be moved on Monday 7th of July 2008 on the floor of the House.

The party meeting held under the presidentship of Omar Abdullah decided that all the members of the NC Legislative Party will vote against the Government motion.

The decision was also endorsed by the Chief Patron of the Party Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is presently abroad.

The Chief Whip of the Party, Mubarak Ahmad Gul issued a three line whip to all the members of the Legislative Assembly belonging to NC in this regard.

The meeting of the Legislature Party expressed concern about the situation in Jammu and urged the Government to take appropriate steps to defuse the situation.

The party also urged the Government to ensure that the Amarnath Yatra is conducted peacefully and the best possible arrangements are made for the Yatris.

The party also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to uphold the traditional values of secularism, brotherhood and communal harmony and live in peace.
