Pune, Jul 5 (UNI) Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA), the autonomous body controlling Olympic sports in the state, today presented a memorandum listing increase in cash awards to sportspersons and creation of an ''Olympic Bhavan'', among other demands, to Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh here today.
The memorandum included other demands like considerable increase in budget grants to Maharashtra Sports Council, district sports associations and sports clubs, hike in financial assistance given to the state associations for participating in national championships and solution to difficulties faced by sportspersons, organisers association and others.
The delegation, which met Deshmukh, comprised of MOA Secretary General Prof Balasaheb Landge, MOA Treasurer Chandrakant Shirole, Athletic Federation of India (AFI) Joint Honorary Secretary Pralhad Sawant and a host of others.
