Minister inaugurates Telugu rural folk arts fest
Tiruchirapalli, July 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panapaga Lakhsmi today inaugurated a two-day south Indian Telugu rural folk arts festival here.
Addressing the gathering, she said the festival would strengthen bond between the people of neighbouring state besides exchanging cultural themes.
Festival organising committee chairman Jayaraman said about 300 rural folk artistes would perform 'Perini Siva Thondaram train (Classical dance), Oggu dollu train, Urumula chintha train and several other dances besides number of programmes would be held. About 100 research scholors from nine universities in Andhra Pradesh would participate in the festival, jointly organised by the Teluguvani Trust Hyderabad, Tiruchirapalli District Reddy Nala Sangam and Tiruchirapalli district all Telugu community associations, he added.
Tamil Nadu Ministers Arcot N Veerasamy, K N Nehru and N Selvaraj spoke on the occasion.
