Gilani to hold talks with leaders at D-8 summit
Singapore, July 5 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is scheduled to hold talks with his counterparts from Malaysia, Bangladesh and Indonesia during next week's Group of Eight Islamic Developing Countries (D-8) Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
Mr Gilani is scheduled to arrive on Monday in the Malaysian capital city, where he will meet Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Pakistan and Malaysia signed a Free Trade Agreement in November with the aim of boosting bilateral trade, which in 2007 was more than 1 billion dollars.
Officials from the two countries have been working on doubling this year's trade under the November FTA. Leaders from Egypt, Iran, Nigeria and Turkey are also participating in the D-8 summit, being held from July 4-8.
