Hyderabad, Jul 5 (UNI) Eighteen people, including 10 women, were killed and as many injured in separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh today.
Police said nine people, including five women, died on the spot and two others seriously injured, when their car collided head-on with a lorry near Kadirinayudupalle village under Marripadu police station limits in Nellore district.
The injured were admitted to Badwel hospital.
The car from Koski in Mahaboob Nagar, was proceeding to AS Peta Darga, while the lorry was on way to Badwel from Nellore, when the accident occurred.
In Nalgonda district, six people, including a three-year-old boy and four women, were killed and 16 severely injured when a van dashed against a lorry near Aitipamula village in the district.
The van, carrying about 30 labourers from Kattamguru, was proceeding to Damalur in Krishna District. While van driver, two women and a boy were killed on the spot, two women succumbed on way to hospital.
The injured were admitted to the Nalgonda Government Hosptial and other private clinics.
Later, three people, including a woman were killed when their car, on way to Tirupati, collided with a private bus on Chittoor-Chandragiri highway in Chittoor district, police added.
