15 remote control IEDs, 44 UBGL grenades recovered in Jammu
Jammu, Jul 5 (UNI) Averting a major tregedy, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) today unearthed 15 remote control Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and 44 UBGL grenades near National Highway 1-a in Banihal area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on a specific information, troops of 12 RR recovered material of 15 remote control IEDs and 44 UBGL grenade hidden at Nari, about seven kilometres from National Highway, Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.
The explosives could have been used on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to disrupt people movement, particularly the Amarnath pilgrims, sources said.
