Lucknow, July 5 (UNI) The incessant rainfall in Uttar Pradesh has claimed 28 lives, including 11 children, and grievously injured 26 in separate incidents in the last 24 hrs.
In Fatehpur, eight persons, including five children were buried alive and one sustained serious injuries after their 'kachcha' house collapsed due to heavy downpour in Char station area here, whereas, in Bakewar area two houses caved-in killing four persons, including two minors and injured one, official sources said.
However, in Asowar area two minors were buried in the debries after roof of a house collapsed, whereas in Khaga area and Semauri village 22-year-old and 32-year-old women succumbed respectively.
District Magistrate has announced compensation for the bereaved family from disaster relief fund.
In Kaushambi, in Manjhanpur and Bhavanipur village two persons, including a boy were killed and 25 injured after their house collapsed.
The district administration has announced Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia for the family members of the deceased and Rs 10,000 for repair work.
In Sultanpur, seven persons, including five girls succumbed in saparate rain related incidents, whereas in Pratapgarh, wall of a house caved-in killing a woman and injuring two girls, official sources added.
