ICECD fetes women entrepreneurs
Ahmedabad, July 4 (UNI) The International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD) today hosted a state-level convention wherein 2,000 successful widow women entrepreneurs from Gujarat were felicitated.
The convention also provided useful insights on how to expand and grow their businesses.
State Minister of Revenue, Women and Child Development Anandiben Patel was the chief guest on the occasion.
Ms Patel lauded the women entrepreneurs saying they were the ''economic partners of the state''.
ICECD director Hina Shah, while elucidating on her organisation's role, said the entrepreneurs are provided with regular follow-up support and guidance. The entrepreneurs are also provided ''kits'' worth Rs 3,000 by the Government to support their businesses.
In the last three years, the ICECD has trained 7400 widows of whom 4300 have already started their businesses. These women have launched businesses in food products, cold drinks, garment making, dairy products, beauty parlour, flour mills, laundry, STD/PCO centres, tiffin services, and others.
