Chennai, Jul 4 (UNI) Acting swiftly, Madras High Court today gave relief to a plus two student by awarding additional marks and enabled her to participate in the counselling for admission to medicine, scheduled to commence on July six.
Considering the urgency involved in the matter, Mr Justice A Kulasekaran, directed the Director of Government examinations to produce the answer sheet of K Krithika, ordered additional marks and issue of fresh mark sheets, all in one day.
When the petition filed by the candidate, hailing from Namakkal district came up for hearing this morning, the judge posted the matter for afternoon after directing the authorities to produce her original Biology answer sheet.
Ms Karthika contended that she was originally awarded 190 marks in Biology and after re-totalling, awarded two more marks. But she found that the marks awarded to her for various questions were either not included or less marks were included, or marks were not given accurately.
Perusal of the original answer sheet proved that the petitioner was correct and the same was conceded by the representatives of the Director of Government examinations.
Accordingly, Ms Karthika was given 195 marks, after which, the judge directed the Director of Government examinations to issue her a fresh mark sheet today itself to enable her to participate in the counselling, scheduled for July six.
