DRI sleuths seize Rs 10 cr worth heroin at Bengaluru Airport
Bangalore, July 3 (UNI) Sleuths from Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have arrested two persons, including a Thai woman and seized 3 kg heroin worth Rs 10 crore from them which they were trying to smuggle to Kaula Lumpur from the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA).
The two -- Thitaree (23) belonging to Thailand and Sulaimani (36) of Tanzania were nabbed when they tried to board an aircraft to Kaula Lumpur with the contraband on July one.
They were carrying three kilogram of heroin concealed in capsules, officials said.
The duo were today produced before a city court which remanded them to judicial custody. They had been shifted to Central Jail in Parappana Agrahara, official sources added.
This was the third such incident when passengers were found with narcotics in the newly opened airport which began operations on May 27.
Earlier a magician going to Mumbai was arrested for possessing opium while a 'Disc Jockey' also a domestic passenger was held for carrying ganja.
