Puducherry, Jul 4: An honest autorickshaw driver has handed over to police Euros worth Rs three lakh which was left behind in his vehicle.
According to police, two foreigners yesterday hired the autorickshaw of Ramalingam(49), the driver from Ganesa temple for a cemetry at Ouppalam. On his return to the stand Ramalingam found that they had left behind a bag in the seat.
He rushed to the police headquarters and handed it over to senior superintendent of police B Srikanth.
When the two foreigners came in search of their bag, Mr Srikanth handed it over to them.
Ramalingam, also rejected a reward offered by the foreigners.
He has also in many previous occasions handed over to the police cell phones and cameras left behind in his autorickshaw by passangers, he added.
