Srinagar, Jul 4 (UNI) The Field Operations Division of National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO), Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, will carry out the NSS 65th round of socio-economic survey for a period of one year in Jammu and Kashmir.
The survey commencing from July 7, 2008 will continue till June 30, 2009.
Domestic Tourism, Housing Conditions and Urban Slums are the subjects to be covered under the said round as the tourism has close linkage with the distinct patterns of consumption and expenditure.
With the aim of building a sound data base of the Indian economy for the objective of planning and policy making in the government of India the Field Operations Division of NSSO is engaged in the task of conducting large scale sample survey in socio-economic field.
Keeping in view the importance of the socio-economic survey in nation building, the people of this region are requested to cooperate with the field staff of NSSO, when they approach them and furnish correct and complete information to help the government in the best planning and policy makings to the nation, a Press Information Bureau spokesman said here today.
