Station Manager caught accepting bribe in MP
Bhopal, Jul 3: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials arrested Bhopal Railway Station Manager S R Meena and Assitant Yard Master Kamlesh Chandra Uniyal for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from a sanitary contractor.
CBI sources said the station manager and his aide threatened the sanitation contractor to cancel his contract pointing out minor mistakes and demanded kick-back for continuing the work.
On a tip-off, CBI raided the station manager's office after the contractor Manish handed over the money to the Assistant Yard Master at the instance of Meena.
The CBI team also conducted a raid at the residences of Meena and Uniyal last evening after arresting them. Both would be presented in the court today.
Complaints of corruption and malpractices were also received against Meena when he was posted at Jabalpur, the sources said.
