New Delhi, Jul 3 (UNI) Local favourite Rashid Khan took a five-stroke lead at the end of the third round of the Lali Suri Northern India Junior/Sub-Junior golf championship at the Army Golf Course here today.
The Delhi lad returned a card of one-over 73 for a 54-hole total of 3-under 213.
He had a steady start making three pars before he committed the first mistake of the day on the par-3 fourth.
Once again the same pattern followed where he made three consecutive pars before making a double bogey on the par-5 eighth.
Taking the turn at 3-under, Rashid made amends with a birdie on the par-4 10th and the par-5 12th.
The 17-year-old flirted with birdies on at least four holes else the lead would have swelled to much more than it actually was. T Chikkarangappa (Category B) continued to be in the overall second position at 218 while Kanishk Madan was third at 219.
Vicky Sharma was fourth at 220 while Khalin Joshi, Samrat Basu and Raghav Bhandari shared the fifth position at 226.
Bhanu Pratap Singh was placed eighth at 227 while Kapil Kumar was ninth at 229.
