Precious metals soar: Bombay Bullion Association
Mumbai, Jul 3: Both the precious metals glittered on the second consecutive day today with silver rising by Rs 260 per kg and gold by Rs 150 per ten gm on good demand from ornament makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said here.
Silver opened higher at Rs 25,340 and gold opened at Rs 13,130 per ten gm. In the international market, gold was quoted at USD 942.65/943.65 an ounce, steady from USD 942.60/943.60 an ounce late in New York, while silver edged down to USD 18.28/18.34 an ounce from USD 18.32/18.39 late in New York. Following were the opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 25,340 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 13,130 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 13,190.
