Patan, Jul 3 (UNI) A local court today adjourned till July 10 the trials in the Patan gangrape case against six teachers as the victim fainted while the proceedings were in progress.
The proceedings were started but the girl collapsed soon after.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was given treatment and advised to take rest for half-an-hour. The counsel for the victim informed the court that she was still not in a condition to attend the proceedings.
The Fast Track Court Judge S C Srivastava here adjourned the trials till July 10.
Earlier on July 1, when the trial was scheduled to start, the victim was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. The Judge had then adjourned the matter to today.
The victim, presently in the custody of an NGO in Ahmedabad following a court's order, had fainted when her parents visited the NGO office last Saturday and rushed to the Civil Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
The court had allowed her to be in the custody of the NGO after she charged her father with taking advantage of her situation. She had told the court that her father was interested in money and wanted her to change her stand in the case.
The victim was allegedly raped by six of her teachers in Primary Teachers College, Patan last year and the incident came to fore in the first week of February this year.
