Chandigarh, Jul 3 (UNI) Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, who served as the media advisor to former Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, today pleaded before the Punjab and Haryana High Court for grant of anticipatory bail in connection with the recent case registered against him by the State Vigilance Bureau at Patiala.
He pleaded that the case was registered on ground of the ongoing enmity between the present CM Parkash Singh Badal and the former CM and said the Bureau appeared to be intent on implicating him and his son into a false case of allegedly disproportionate assets.
He has also submitted that the latest case broadly contained charges listed out in previous two FIRs against him and as such was against the law laid down by the Supreme Court.
The petition is expected to come up for preliminary hearing tomorrow.
