Srinagar, Jul 3 (UNI) A self-styled operational chief and another top commander of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) were killed in a fierce gun battle in South Kashmir today.

Security forces killed both the LeT militants who were holed up in a house at South Kashmir since this morning.

Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a search operation at village Naina Batapora in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama following a tip-off about the presence of the militants there.

Official sources said when the SOG personnel were about to storm a particular area, the militants opened fire.

The security personnel retaliated but the militants entered the house.

Later, reinforcement was rushed to the area from nearby camps and cordon around the house was further tightened.

Both the LeT militants, self-styled operational chief Abu Atif alias Shadak and Syed Moin were killed.
