Jammu bandh call extended till July 6: BJP
Jammu, Jul 3 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party state unit today said the ongoing call for Jammu bandh has been extended for another three days till July 6.
''Unless the land will not be handed over to the Shrine Board and the government in minority will not be dismissed, the agitation will continue in the country and we will fight till end,'' state BJP president Ashok Khajuria said at a press conference here.
Mr Khajuria said the Jammu bandh call was extended by Baba Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti and the BJP supports and asserted, ''we want smooth sailing in the state but Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are trying to communalise the Amarnath issue for generating vote bank.'' However, the BJP president also appealed the people of Jammu region to maintain communal harmony as some vested interests were dividing people in the name of religion.
