Another Amarnath yatri dead, toll reaches 34
Srinagar, Jul 3 (UNI) A 50-year-old yatri from Fariabad on the way to holy Amarnth cave died in a hospital, official sources said today.
They said Dilip Kumar Roy, son of S K Roy resident of Faridabad, was taken seriously ill at base camp Pahalgam.
He was immediately referred to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences at Soura where he died.
The yatri was travelling alone and was not carrying details of his address or phone number, an official spokesperson said.
It is requested that his relatives, if any, may contact Yatra joint Police Control Room at Pahalgam on phone numbers 01936243450 or Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
With this, a total of 34 pilgrims have so far died natural death since the commencement of the two-month-long yatra on June 18 on both sides of traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal routes.
