Vithal Bhai Patel not to contest elections

Sagar, Jul 2: Senior Congress leader and noted poet Vithal Bhai Patel has said he would not contest any election in future.

''I have grown old and have decided not to contest elections again. However, I would continue to serve for the party and society,'' Mr Patel, while talking to reporters here yesterday, said.

A former Madhya Pradesh minister, Mr Patel said he had already informed about his decision to party leaders during meeting of the district Congress Committee on June 30 as a part of initial phases of selection procedure of candidates.

Mr Patel had written songs for about 100 Hindi films including famous song 'Jhoot Bole Kaua Kate' in Hindi movie 'Bobby'.
