Saurashtra-Kutch truckers join nationwide strike
Rajkot, Jul 2 (UNI) Following the strike call given by All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), nearly one lakh trucks of Saurashtra and Kutch went off the roads today as the operators began agitation over rising fuel prices.
However, essential services like milk and water tankers were exempted from the strike.
The indefinite strike call was given by AIMTC to protest against the increase of oil prices by nearly 40 per cent.
The truck operators have stopped the booking of the supply goods since yesterday.
They are also protesting against road tolls imposed by the government.
