Maoist ultras blow up railway tracks under East railways
Bettiah, Jul 2 (UNI) Maoist ultras triggered a powerful blast and blew up railway tracks in between Mahaul-Mahesi railway stations on Narkatiyaganj-Muzaffarpur railway section of East railways in West Champaran district.
Railway area manager Kamin Khan said here today that 515 Up Sonepur-Gorakhpur passenger train got derailed following the blast, which occurred at 0035 hours. However, no causality had been reported in the incident.
He said the blast was so powerful that it damaged the railway tracks in about 15 to 20 metres.
Senior railway officials were camping at the spot to monitor the repair work.
Meanwhile, train services are paralysed on the section.
