Tirumala, July 2 (UNI) Unprecedented security arrangements are being made for the successful conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara, scheduled to commence from October 1 this year.
According to highly placed sources the recent terrorist attacks that shook the entire nation and the state capital in particular, along with the security alerts sounded by various intelligence agencies has rather forced the management to go in for foolproof security arrangements as the visiting crowd during the mega festival shall be at its zenith.
At a high-level first review meeting organised today at Annamayya Bhavan here with the district police officials, APSRTC officials and heads of various departments, the TTD Executive officer K V Ramanachary has asked the officials to work deligently for the success of the grand event besides taking up all pending works, including engineering works at various places for benefit of the devotees should be completed on or before August 1.
He asked the TTD Vigilance and Security officials that a strict vigil should be maintained at all key and sensitive places at Alipiri and at hill atop to prevent anti-social elements to sneak in.
The devotees visiting the temple town during the annual festival shall be thoroughly frisked at Alipiri security point and at all vulnerable points atop the sacred hills including the Mada streets through which the daily processions of Lord on various vahanams shall be organised, he asked police officials.
