Chandigarh, Jul 2 (UNI) The Haryana government has advised the farmers to get the arrears of bonus on paddy within 15 days from "Katcha Arhityas" (commission agents) to whom they have sold their paddy.
An official spokesman said the Central government had fixed the minimum support price of leviable paddy as Rs 645 per quintal for common paddy and Rs 675 per quintal for Grade-A paddy.
Thereafter, a bonus of Rs 50 per quintal was announced on October 12, 2007 and of an additional equal amount on November 21, 2007 thus giving a total bonus of Rs 100 per quintal.
Therefore, the total price of Grade-A paddy in previous season would be Rs 775 per quintal and that of common paddy Rs 745 per quintal.
He said that the total cost of paddy including bonus was to be paid on leviable paddy sold from the beginning of previous procurement season to its termination that is from September 26 to December 31, 2007.
Therefore, those farmers who have sold their leviable common paddy at Rs 645 per quintal or Grade-A paddy at Rs. 675 per quintal or at a higher rate to the "Arhityas" and they were yet to get total cost from "Katcha Arhityas", they should immediately get the arrear of bonus from the same " Arhityas".
