Gold opens at Rs 13,130 per ten gm

Mumbai, Jul 2: Value of gold advanced further as gold shot up by Rs 165, opened at Rs 13,130 and silver by Rs 515 per kg, crossed 25k and opened at Rs 25,265 on brisk buying support and firm global cues, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said here on Wednesday, July 2.

In international market also precious metals registered a positive trend as gold rose to USD 940.20/941.20 an ounce from USD 938.40/939.40 late in New York. Gold extended gains as inflation fears lingered after oil hit another record high, boosting the metal's safe-haven appeal.

Silver was little changed at USD 18.07/18.13 an ounce from USD 18.08/18.13 late in New York, Singapore market report said.
