FIR lodged against MP, his PSOs in Jammu
Jammu, Jul 2 (UNI) Police have registered an FIR against Lal Singh, Member of Parliament of Congress from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, and his Personal Security Officers (PSOs) for allegedly thrashing some people on Jammu-Pathankot national highway, sources today said.
Mr Singh was on his way towards Kathua from Samba when he was stopped at Jatwal by the group of people who were protesting yesterday against the revocation of land transfer to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) in Kashmir.
''The MP and his PSOs entered into a verbal duel with the protesters which led to a brawl between the two,'' the source said, adding that the Congress leader was thereafter evacuated by police to the nearby Jatwal post.
However, the agitating people followed and ransacked the police post in search of the MP who had left by the time.
Sources said the people lodged under sections 307, 323, 504 and 506 of RPC an FIR against Mr Singh and his PSOs in the police station Samba.
