Delhi Congress discusses poll strategy at 'vichar goshti'
New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) With an eye on the forthcoming Asssembly elections, the Delhi Congress has launched its website, besides discussing ways and means to expand its base and reach out to the people in the election year, during its 'vichar goshti' session today.
Elaborating on today's 'vichar goshti' (convention), DPCC president Jai Prakash Agarwal told media that forthcoming state election's challenges and strategies to handle the situation were discussed during the convention.
''The A K Antony report on how to fight elections and select party candidates for the polls was one of the primary issues of the convention.'' Besides this, the country's internal security situation and achievements of the UPA government were also discussed as was the issue of taking along party workers in all the decision making process, said Mr Agarwal.
Earlier, launching the website -- www.dpcc.co.in -- All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Ashok Gehlot said the move would strengthen the party further.
The launch, marked to coincide with the convention (vichar goshti) organised by the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), saw several party bigwigs, including AICC General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken, Minister of State for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia among others participating in the function.
