Bangalore, July 2 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.
Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka.
Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.
Bhatkal recorded very heavy rainfall of 16 cm.
Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe 11; Shirali, Honavar 9 each; Mulki, Mani, Karkala, Kollur 8 each; Mudibidre, Bantwal 7 each.
Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Ankola 6; Mangalore, Bajpe, Belthangadi, Dharmasthala, Puttur, Kota, Bhagamandala, Kammardi, Koppa 5 each; Panambur, Udupi, Kumta, Talaguppa, Sringeri, Jayapura 4 each.
Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and over Shimoga, Kodagu, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.
Heavy Rainfall Warning:Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Fisheries warning: Strong on-shore winds from westerly to northwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Local forecast: Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Light rain likely.
