BEL appoints KPMG to aid business growth

New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), the Bangalore-based Navaratna defence PSU, has appointed consulting firm KPMG to help identify future market opportunities for growth.

BEL has signed a six-month contract wherein KPMG will study its present plans and identify opportunities for expansion of business in the existing areas as well as in new business segments, a statement said here.

''Time has come for BEL to revisit its growth and business strategies and make it more suited to today's competitive environment. KPMG will draw detailed business plans for the chosen areas and also assist in implementation and project monitoring where necessary,'' BEL Chairman and Managing Director V V R Sastry said.

The consulting firm had earlier signed similar contracts with various other firms to evolve appropriate business strategies for them.
