New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) An ambitious national scheme for development of skills in 12000 Muslim girls in Bihar would be inaugurated by Union Minister for Human Resource Development Arjun Singh at a function here tomorow.

The scheme, which is being launched jointly by the Centre and the state Government, has been devised by the National Open School in collaboration with the Bihar Education Project Council.

A scheme for the free education of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes would also be launched at the function to be attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too.

Mr Singh and Mr Kumar today exchanged views on the schemes through video conferencing on the occasion of the launch of the scheme in Patna.

The cooperation of madrasas and religious institutions like Darul Uloom will be sought in the implementation of the scheme, Secretary of the National Open School D S Bisht said here.

The girls will be trained in seven trades. Funds will be transferred to the Bihar Education Project Council under the Flagship Programme of the HRD Ministry--the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA), he said.

For the second scheme of free education for SC/ST students, the National Open School has started the facility of online admission from this session.
