3 per cent reservation for sportspersons

Shimla, Jul 2 (UNI) Three per cent reservation is being provided to distinguished sportspersons in service/posts to be filled up by direct recruitment in all government departments, boards, corporations and autonomous bodies in Himachal Pradesh.

The spokesman of the State Youth Services and Sports department today informed that the State Police Department is filling up 1514 posts of constables including 140 lady constables out of which 45 posts (41 of male constables and 4 posts of female constables) have been reserved for distinguished sports persons.

He said that the department of Youth Services and Sports has sponsored 73 sports persons registered with the Department.

The Spokesman said that all those players who have participated at the state level and national level championships may get their names registered with the Department of Youth Services and Sports on or before 9th July, so that their names would be forwarded to Police Department.
