Chennai, July 1 (UNI) Close on the heels of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's announcement at the first-ever DMK Women's Wing Conference in Cuddalore two weeks back, the Tamil Nadu Government has issued an official order announcing a subsidy of Rs 30 for households with single-cylinder LPG connection.
The order, issued here last evening, explained in detail the procedures to be followed while granting the subsidy.
The government would pay an advance towards the subsidy to the distributors for supplies to be made in July and August.
LPG cylinder distributors should take note of the numbers of the ration card and maintain separate details of the bill list.
The government would provide a subsidy of Rs 30 on each cylinder weighing 14.2 kg. For five kg cylinder, a subsidy of Rs 11 would be given.
The government would provide Rs 1,000 per month to oil company distributors for preparing the bills and related information.
A sum of Rs 18 crore would be made available as first instalment to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Department towards the subsidy.
