Moga, Jul 1 (UNI) Three men have been arrested for allegdly committing gang rape with a minor orphan girl in the district.
According to police, Gura Singh, Rajdeep Singh, both of Dala village and Nirmal Singh of Mahesari village of Moga district were arrested yesterday for allegedly raping the 16-year-old girl, who had lost both her father and mother in an accident few years back and was residing with her grandmother at Daudhar West.
The two other accused involved in the crime, Tehal Singh of Dela and Baljinder Singh of Ugoke village managed to escape.
The police said that the incident occured on Sunday evening when the victim was on way to her relatives' place in Dala village.
When she reached Moga Bus stand, one of the accused Nirmal Singh offered her lift in his car with the assurance that he would drop her at her village as he knew her relatives.
On the way to Dala village, Nirmal Singh took four other men in his car and brought the girl to the tubewell of Gura Singh where all the five kept the victim whole night and committed rape with her.
However, in the morning the girl managed to escape from their clutches and luckily a police patrol party met her on the outskirts of Dala village where she narrated the whole story.
The police party immediately rushed to the tubewell and nabbed three while the two managed to escape.
After conducting medical examination of the girl and the three accused, the Police registered a case under section 376 and 506 of the IPC against the five men.
