Temperatures rise after isolated rains in HP

Shimla, Jul 1 (UNI) The minimum and maximum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh rose by a few degrees following light rains at isolated places in the state during the last 24 hours.

Barring the tourist resort of Dharamshala in Kangra, which experienced 30.6 mm rains, and three mm rain at Kalpa in Kinnuar district, the weather remained dry in other parts of the state following which the temperatures rose by a few degrees.

The day temperature at Shimla rose by about two degrees to stand at 24 degrees as compared to yesterday, while the night temperature rose by a few notches to stand at 15.4 degree Celsius.

Similarly, the maximum temperature at Sundernagar and Bhuntar rose by about two degrees each to stand at 32.1 and 32.8 respectively, while it stood at 24.1 at Kalpa, 25.6 at Dharamshala and 27 degrees at tourist resort of Manali town.

Sundernagar also recorded an increase in the night temperature, which stood at 22, Bhuntar 20, Kalpa eight, Dharamshala 18.1, Manali 15, Mandi 22.5, Una 21.7 and Nahan 22.1 degree Celsius.

The sky remained under clouds over Shimla town and other adjoining areas throughout the day after days of wet conditions.

The met office has forecast rain or thundershowers at a few places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
