Kolkata, Jul 1 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) state committee has decided to organise a mass movement jointly with the Opposition Trinamool Congress against the recent hikes in bus fares.
Talking to newspersons here today, SUCI state secretary Provash Ghosh said the bus fares and electricity charges in West Bengal were more expensive than other states.
'' The recent bus fare hike to be effective from July 11 has no justification, and so we have decided to continue our movement against the hikes from July three throughout the state, '' he stated.
He said the party would organise protest and movement on July 11.
Demonstration and rally would be held from block level throughout August, and a mass movement would be held throughout September, he added.
'' We will meet Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee tomorrow evening and discuss with her about our movement, '' he said.
