Etah, Jul 1 (UNI) Ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Sribhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit, has been shifted to Kanpur city jail from Etah due to security reasons.
Guddu was last night incarcerated in the Etah district jail, but he has now been shifted to Kanpur jail on the government order for security reasons.
Superintendent of Police, Kanshiran Nagar, Luv Kumar said the inspector in charge of Kasganj Kotwali has been handed over the probe into the matter.
The BSP MLA was arrested by the Gautam Buddhanagar police on June 29, after one Shital Birla filed a rape and atrocities case against him at Kasganj police station in Kashiram Nagar district, he added.
Earlier, Guddu was taken to Kasganj on transit remand and produced before the court, which sent him to judicial custody till July 10. But, he compalined of chest pain before being sent to jail and was subsequently referred to Aligarh medical college.
The case was registered by the Kasganj police station for illegal confinement, threatening and conspiracy against Guddu Pandit under Sections 420, 497, 342,323, 504, 506, 120 B of IPC and 7 criminal law amendment Act, the SP had earlier informed.
