Photo I-cards to 85 pc voters in Raj
Jaipur, Jul 1(UNI) Photo Identity cards have been issued to around 85 per cent of voters in Rajasthan even as efforts for issuing them to all eligible voters before the next Assembly polls were on.
Talking to reporters here today Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Zutsi said a special drive would be launched in the state from July 15 for issuance of photo I-cards.
Besides this, summary review and revision of electoral rolls and final updating of photo electoral rolls was also being taken up between June 30 and August 31.
He said all necessary measures were being taken to make electoral roll and electoral process most accurate and folproof.
Mr Zutsi said that 6500 more polling booths would be set up in the state in the next assembly elections as compared to the previous polling.
With this, 42,206 polling booths would be set up to facilitate smooth polling by over 3.52 crore eligible voters.
