One more held in Matka king murder case
Mumbai, Jul 1 (UNI) The Raigad police today arrested one more person in connection with the murder of Matka king Suresh Bhagat last month.
According to Raigad police, Kiran Pujari was involved in the murder of Bhagat, who along with six others was killed in an orchestrated the accident on June 13 this year while he was returning home in Kalyan from a court hearing in Alibaug.
The police are ascertaining the antedecents of Pujari and whether he is related to any gang.
Raigad police have already arrested two persons -- Harish Mandvekar and Suhas Roge, owing allegiance to gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, for the murder of Bhagat.
Mandvekar had given a 'supari' (contract killing sum) of Rs 3 lakh to the driver of the truck, which hit a SUV in which Bhagat was travelling in Raigad district, killing all the seven occupants.
Suhas Roge was picked up from Daman, a Union territory, on June 18. He had given Mandvekar a sum of Rs 45 lakh to knock down Bhagat's SUV.
Initially, the Raigad police had registered a case of accidental death, which was later changed to murder.
