Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide
Kolhapur, July 1 (UNI) A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide at village Devale in Karvir tehsil of Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.
Netaji Bhimrao Patil (30), allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house last evening, police said here today.
Netaji had taken loans from local credit societies, but failed to pay them in time, following which the credit societies issued notices to him. This must have forced him to take the extreme step, police said.
Earlier, on June 20, a debt-ridden farmer from village Nave-Pargaon in Hatkanangale tehsil had also taken this extreme step.
