CPI(M) hails revoking of SASB land transfer order
Srinagar, Jul 1 (UNI) Welcoming the Jammu and Kashmir cabinet order revoking the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), the Communist Party of India (M) appealed to people to resume normal activities now.
State secretary of the CPI(M) Mohammad Yousuf Targami said with the announcement of the withdrawal of the claim by the SASB, the land transfer order of the state cabinet ceased to be valid.
However, he said it was necessary to revoke the order by the state cabinet to avoid uncertainty among the people.
''I welcome the cabinet decision,'' he said, adding now there is no justification for any protest or violence.
Mr Targami said it was very unfortunate that some parties and individuals are claiming it to be their victory. It is the victory of all those forces who believe in peace and brotherhood, he said.
He appealed to people to maintain peace and frustrate the evil designs of communal forces who are bent upon to divide the people on religion and region basis.
Mr Targami said despite attempts from different quarters, people in the Kashmir valley maintained age-old traditions of brotherhood.
He came down heavily on communal forces who are trying to volatising the situation for divisive politics. However, he cautioned the people not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of such forces.
