Air Force Table Tennis Championship gets underway

Chandigarh, Jul 1 (UNI) Air Force Table Tennis Championship 2008 got underway at the Air Force Station here last evening with the Western Air Command (WAC) team defeating the Air HQ team by 3-2 in the inaugural match.

In the second match of the Championship, inaugurated by Air Commodore SRK Nair, Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing Air Force, the Training Command team beat South Western Air Command (SWAC) team by 3-2.

A total of eight teams namely Air Headquarters, Western Air Command, South Western Air Command, Eastern Air Command, Central Air Command, Southern Air Command, Maintenance Command and Training Command are participating in this Championship representing each command of Indian Air Force.

The closing ceremony of the Championship would be held on Friday.
