Nashik, Jul 1: A total amount of Rs 543.77 crore loan taken by 1,64,421 farmers in the district has been waived off.
According to the Union Government's instructions, the list of loan waiver scheme beneficiary farmers, have been implemented and they were displayed at the respective banks. The Nashik District Central Co-operative (NDCC) Bank handed over these lists to Co-operative department Secretary Sudhirkumar Goyal yesterday, the last day for preparing the lists. Mr Goyal visited the bank and took stock of the situation.
Out of the total beneficiary farmers, the NDCC and other co-operative banks have 1,33,754 farmers (Rs 384.70 crore loan waiver). Nationalised banks have 27,438 beneficiaries and Rs 134.92 crore loan has been waived off. The Bhuvikas Bank has 263 beneficiary farmers and Rs 1.19 crore loan has been waived off. The Urban Co-operative Bank has 2,966 beneficiaries and Rs 22.95 crore have been waived off.
Besides the banks, the lists of beneficiaries will be displayed at Multipurpose Societies and Grampanchayat offices in villages. Now all these beneficiary farmers will be able to draw fresh loans, sources said.
