Bhopal, June 30 (UNI) Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Suresh Soni were among those who supported the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stand on the controversial issue of land allotment to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
The trio, along with BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government decision cancelling the land allotment to facilitate the 'yatris' by saying that such actions lent support to pseudo-secularism being practised in our country.
They were addressing a function to mark the launching of the Hindi version of senior BJP leader L K Advani's biography 'Mera Desh Mera Jeevan'.
''There was no logic in cancelling the land allotted to provide basis facilities to pilgrims,'' said Sri Sri Ravishankar, who released the book. Religious leaders should have the authority to decide on the tenure of the pilgrimage, he added.
Baba Ramdev said that lending communal hues to everything was wrong and cancellation of the land allotment was ''unfortunate''.
Stating that he was an apolitical person, Baba Ramdev said that he would however support all nationalist issues irrespective of whether those were backed by a political party.
''Discrimination towards the Hindus will not be tolerated,'' Ms Swaraj said.
