Water cut in Mumbai from tomorrow despite rains
Mumbai, June 30 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stuck to its decision to implement a 15 per cent cut in water supply from tomorrow despite the heavy rains in the metropolis.
The BMC has stuck to its decision since the water level in the lakes has depleted and water, at present, is being supplied from the reserved level.
Municipal commissioner Jairaj Phatak today said the water cut will be in force till water level of the lakes, supplying water to Mumbai, increases.
Meanwhile, during the last 24 hours, Colaba recorded 49.1 mm of rains while Santacruz recorded 82.9 mm rainfall.
The water level of the lakes has increased marginally because of the rains.
