Bangalore, Jun 30 (UNI) In an gruesome incident, a 27-year-old housewife was killed and her three-year-old female child was injured while on a joyride at a mechanised amusement riding in Balbhavan in Cubban park, Karnataka Minister for Woman and Child Welfare Narendra Swamy said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the incident took place due to the negligence on the part of the amusement sport operator located inside the premises of Balbhavan.
Mr Swamy said that during a roller-coaster joy event Ms Ayesha who was sitting with her Namra fell down when the door of the mechanised play-ride opened up suddenly while on the move.
The Minister said that taking serious note of the incident he had issued order suspending from the service both the Secretary and Administrator of Balbhavan which had issued license to the amusement event operator. "The preliminary inquiry has revealed that the amusement park was run by a private operator illegally", he added.
Expressing regret over the incident, the Minister said that he had ordered action against the amusement event operator and pay suitable compensation to the next to the kins of the deceased.
He said that the deceased, a resident of Byadagi taluk in Gadag district and also wife of Abdul Reshaq. The injured child was given treatment in a hospital for minor injuries and was kept in a state-run Children Care Centre center.
Replying to questions the Minister said that the amusement sport events was being operated by M/s Funstyle and notices were issued by the Balbhavan authorities to stop certain fun events which had no permission from the department.
Mr Swamy said that government will take action against the culprits who were responsible for allowing to run the amusement sports event illegally. Police have also registered a case into the incident, he said.
