Jeev, Shiv sign off at tied 21 in Open de France

By Staff

Paris, Jun 30 (UNI) A last hole bogey spoiled Delhi lad Shiv Kapur's final round as he signed off with a four under 67 to finish at tied 21st along with compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh who returned 69 at the Open de France Alstom here.

Another Indian in fray, Jyoti Randhawa came back well to return 69 in the final round but still finished at a lowly tied 66th with his total score at 10-over 294.

For Shiv, things could have been much better without a last hole bogey as he had a neat front nine and was three-under at turn.

He had birdies on the 10th and 13th which had him at five-under but then the final hole bogey came which denied him a chance to finish at a better position in the leaderboard.

Even Jeev had an opportunity to finish a little higher but the three shots he dropped over two holes spoiled his chances.

Jeev ended with a four-day total of 281.

His final round was marked by six birdies but a couple of bogeys and a double bogey struck disaster for him.

Meanwhile, Randhawa recovered well from his poor third round of 81 to post 69 and signed off at a better position than many had expected.

Pablo Larrazabal of Spain had a final round of 67 which took his total to 269 and handed him the victory.
