Home for street children opened in AP
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, June 30 (UNI) A home for the street children, which would provide shelter, food and education to them, was inaugurated today in this port city.
After inaugurating the Ashram, East Godavari Joint Collector GSRKR Vijayakumar assured all assistance to it on behalf of the district administration.
Voice of Jesus Ministries has started the Ashram with 20 children in the age group of 9-11 years in its premises at Jagannaickpur Area in the old city.
Its Director Joseph Beera said the Ashram was started with the sole motto of ''serving humanity is serving the Lord'' and without depending upon government's assistance.
He said majority of the children were orphans and few disowned by their families. Every effort would be made to shape them into useful citizens.
