Goud to form political party, to achieve Telangana state
Hyderabad, Jun 30 (UNI) Former Telugu Desam Party leader T Devender Goud who quit the party last week, today announced that he would launch his new political party on the advice of the intellectuals and well-wishers to achieve separate Telangana state and solve the problems of people of the region.
Addressing a press conference here, he said he held discussions with intellectuals, well wishers and other leaders who were fighting for Telangana state and sought their cooperation and advise.
He said the name of the new political party, the manifesto and the flag would be decided after getting suggestions from the people and the intellectuals.
The party would focus on waging a struggle for separate Telangana and solve the problems of the people.
He alleged that the major political parties, including the TDP and the Congress, had failed to understand the history of the demand for Telangana and problems of the people.
His new politcal party would function in a democratic way as per the aspirations of the people of that region.
He blamed both TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for the backwardness of Telangana region and alleged that they were against the statehood.
