Srinagar, Jun 30 (UNI) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) broadband users in the Kashmir valley had a tough time as the service remained down since last evening.
The internet subscribers alleged that no senior officer was available in office to confirm about the nature of fault in the system.
The broadband users from Badshah Nagar Natipora and other areas of the city alleged that the system remained out of order for the most part of the day almost daily though they are being charged full rent and other charges by the BSNL department.
The media organisations also complained of poor service of the BSNL broadband, alleging that the system often goes off.
The BSNL subscriber said that at a time when life remained crippled due to strike and protests, the only source to remain in touch with outside the world was broadband internet service which also remained disrupted.
Since our area remained cut off and no national or Jammu based newspaper was available on stand due to hartal, broadband was the only way to reach them. However, due to non-functioning of the broadband system, subscribers had to face a tough time, the BSNL subscribers said.
The Divisional Engineer (DE), broadband when contacted said there was no fault in the system which would be restore within one-hour.
However, after more than three hours the system remained down and the DE was now not available on phone, the subscribers alleged.
